The OOCL SAVANNAH and OOCL JAKARTA (4,504) TEU are delivered

OOCL has received the 4,504 TEU OOCL SAVANNAH and OOCL JAKARTA, the latest two units of a 16-ship-series ordered at Samsung Heavy Industries in several batches starting from August 2004. The two ships were delivered on the same day this June at Samsung’s Geoje Shipyard. The OOCL SAVANNAH will join OOCL's Japan-South China-Thailand KTX2 service while OOCL JAKARTA will join the China Pakistan Express CPX service, which is jointly run by OOCL and Yang Ming. The two ships followed the OOCL GUANGZHOU which had been delivered two weeks ago. Comprising of 18 ships of 4,500 TEU including 16 Samsung units and two units by Hudong Shipyard in China, OOCL current 4,500 TEU newbuilding programme, which are now in service around the world, are all equipped with German Lashing loose Container Securing Equipment.
